Go big or go home at Budd Bay Café, a waterfront destination for weekly Sunday brunch. According to Budd Bay’s owner Patrick Knutson, this iconic brunch spot is “known for pushing the envelope to make it the biggest and best brunch in the South Sound. It’s become the local spot everyone knows about as the spot to celebrate.” Local media agree, The Olympian has recognized Budd Bay Café for having the Best Brunch in the South Sound for nearly 30 years.
What makes this spot so special? According to Knuston,“we go all out.” The entire bar shuts down to play host to a full spread with crepes to order and an array of toppings, a carving station with cuts like roast beef, pork or ham, fresh seafood, omelets to order, an impressive array of desserts, and much more. Wash it all down with $3 Bloody Marys and Mimosas. Make sure to plan ahead, Budd Bay is full for Easter but taking reservations now for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, or that special graduation party.
Prefer to drink your breakfast? Head to the River’s Edge at the Tumwater Valley Golf Club. Open daily with traditional breakfast fare with an expanded menu for Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Every Sunday, find a build your own Bloody Mary and Mimosa Bar. Or leave it to the experts and order The Mother Mary or The Morning Mary, a full breakfast on a cocktail (and a photo op too). Each carefully crafted drink is served in a 32-ounce mason jar, featuring “garnishes” like onion rings, fried pickles, fried green beans, pancakes, sausage and more. Don’t miss the pulled pork here. It’s slow roasted for 18-20 hours and served up on sandwiches, street tacos and more. Look out for slow smoked brisket to make an appearance on the breakfast menu. Reservations for holidays are recommended.

The Mouse Trap, specializing in delicious cheese and wine, hosts a weekly 3-course brunch every Sunday that will show mom and dad just how much they're loved. The menu changes every week and once you get a taste you will keep coming back, but thankfully The Mouse Trap is a specialty shop and you can pack some food (or wine) to take home.
