Event Submission Guidelines

The purpose of Experience Olympia’s online events calendar is to feature events with appeal wide enough to attract out-of-area visitors to travel to Thurston County for overnight stays. We also list smaller, more community-focused events that are welcoming and relevant to visitors as well as residents. The primary audience for the calendar is visitors, in keeping with our mission.

Criteria for Inclusion

• The event must be open to the public and held in a public location. We are unable to post events held in residences.
• Based on Experience Olympia & Beyond’s mission, only Thurston County and close-in regional events in outlying counties will be listed.
• Events must include specific dates and times. Examples of acceptable events: exhibition openings, workshops, in-person talks, and live performances. Examples of unacceptable events: month-long showcases, and shopping experiences with no specific dates.
• Non-visitor events, including meetings, conventions, auctions, clinics, seminars, etc. will be shared on the Community Events Calendar.
• We no longer include virtual-only events. Experience Olympia & Beyond promotes visitation to Thurston County by featuring live events for guests to attend while traveling to the area. As online-only events do not encourage visits to Thurston County, they do not fit our calendar.
  
• We encourage you to submit events at least 30 days in advance to allow for the most effective planning by visitors.
• Experience Olympia & Beyond reserves the right to decline to list any event that conflicts with Experience Olympia & Beyond’s mission or values.

How To Submit Your Event

• First, search the calendar for your event to make sure it hasn’t already been entered.
• Use the form below to submit your event. Enter as much information as possible about your event (images and/or graphics highly recommended).
• Once submitted, your event will be reviewed by Experience Olympia & Beyond and posted to our calendar. Experience Olympia & Beyond may edit event information for grammar, style and accuracy. Entries will be reviewed and posted within 3 business days of submission. Note: If Experience Olympia & Beyond has its own article or description of your event, your submission will be merged with that content.
