MAKE: Custom Hand Saw
Design it. Cut it. Finish it your way and take home a one of a kind saw you made from scratch!
In this two part, hands on workshop, you'll design and build your very own custom hand saw, blade and all. Start with a CNC precut, pre cleaned saw blade , ready for your personal touch, choose how you want to finish it: let it develop an instant rustic, rusted patina with our rust spray, or learn to blue the metal for a rich, one of a kind finish. The choice is yours!
Want to make your saw extra personal? At checkout, you can request a custom word or number (up to 8 characters) to be added to your blade in a stencil font, think initials, a name, or a meaningful number.
In the wood shop, you'll be given a roughly prepared blank piece of wood with pre cut holes for your handle and saw blade, for you to trace and design with. Making it truly your own. With guidance from our instructor, you'll cut your handle out on the bandsaw, then use the router table to round and shape it into a comfortable, finished grip.
By the end of this 4 hour class, you'll walk away with a fully custom, fully functional hand saw, designed, shaped, and finished entirely by you.

Skill Level: Beginner friendly, no experience necessary
What You'll Do:
Choose your blade design, or request a custom word/number (10 characters max, stencil font) at checkout
Design your own saw handle on a roughly prepared wood blank with pre cut holes
Cut your handle out on the bandsaw with instructor guidance
Shape and round your handle using the router table
Choose your blade finish: rust spray for an instant rustic look, or learn to blue the metal for a custom finish
Take home a fully functional, one of a kind custom hand saw
Class Requirements:
Closed toe shoes required; long hair tied back
Safety glasses will be provided and must be worn during all cutting, routing, and finishing steps
Participants must be 12 years or older; minors must be accompanied by an adult, who must remain onsite to supervise
If the accompanying adult also wants to make their own project, they must purchase a ticket
If the adult is only supervising and will not take home a project, no ticket is required
A liability waiver must be signed prior to participating in this class
