Easy to Find, Common Local Birds

Thurston County is a very birdy place: more than 300 species of birds can be found here. Some, of course, are easier to find than others. This presentation is designed for novice bird watchers or those new to the area. We’ll look at photos of and talk about some of the common local birds that you should be able to see on neighborhood walks or outings to parks or walking along the Sound. By the end of the hour, you will be able to identify these birds by sight (and, for many, sound) and know some interesting facts about them and how they make their living.
