Whether you're an experienced writer or just beginning to explore creative writing, this 2-hour monthly workshop offers a welcoming, supportive space to develop your craft. Each session focuses on a different genre or technique while providing time to write, share your work, and receive thoughtful, constructive feedback.
Workshops include a brief discussion of the featured writing form, readings of published examples, guided writing time, and small group sharing. Participants are encouraged (but never required) to read their work aloud. Feedback emphasizes encouragement, curiosity, and suggestions for growth in a respectful, positive environment.
No previous writing experience is necessary. People of all skill levels are welcome to join us in creating a community of writers.
Bring a notebook or laptop and a willingness to experiment with new ideas.
This month's focus: Character development. Learn how to create a character by inventing everything from a background story to appearance to goals and obstacles. Then we will put these characters into a variety of situations and how they respond.
