Overview
Nelson Ranch, located just ten miles south of Olympia, Washington, is a family-owned farm that has been providing all-natural, grass-fed beef for over 150 years. Established in 1861, the ranch has remained in the same family for five generations, making it one of the oldest ranches in Thurston County still owned by the original family.
Their cattle are born and raised on the prairies of South Thurston County, grazing freely on nutrient-rich pastures along the Deschutes River, and are never given additives, chemicals, antibiotics, or growth hormones. Committed to sustainable and humane farming practices, Nelson Ranch employs rotational grazing and has implemented environmental conservation measures to maintain healthy pastures and minimize their ecological impact.
Nelson Ranch sells quarters and halves of beef through their website, but they always have hamburger available by the pound. You can purchase individual cuts from Spuds Produce Market on Capitol Blvd in Olympia and Old Hwy 99 across from the Olympia Airport.
