The Olympia Old-Time Music Festival is a vibrant and beloved program of Arbutus Folk School held every February over Presidents Day weekend. Artists from around the US and Canada come to play concerts, jam, call dances, and teach workshops on the traditional music & dance of the Southeastern United States, including Appalachian string bands, square dances, and Cajun music.
This is an opportunity to learn and participate in the sharing of traditional old-time music & dance in a welcoming, all-inclusive environment with hands-on opportunities and free workshops for various instruments and skill levels, or just listen and enjoy, and make friends! Designed with all ages in mind, volunteer opportunities are available and all are welcome!
