Join us at the library for an exploration of the biology, behaviors, and benefits of the amazing group of mammals called bats! This diverse species group always surprises people with their adaptations, longevity, and intelligence. This program focuses on how bats are so much more than we think they are, how crucial they are to our habitats and ecosystems, and what we can do to help support these essential species.
About the presenter: Niki Desautels is an educator, naturalist, and longtime volunteer with Bats Northwest, where she helps demystify one of the Pacific Northwest’s most misunderstood and ecologically vital mammals. Beyond her work with Bats Northwest Niki is currently working on For the Love of Bats, a conservation book about bats in the western states that will be released on Oct. 1st, 2026 by Mountaineers Books.
