On Thursday, April 2, 5 to 9pm, and Saturday, April 4, 11am to 6pm, the third Absolutely Free Sharing Market will be held at the Thurston County Fairgrounds. This community event is half block party, half mutual aid. There will be food, skill-sharing, and an entire hall of donated items to share, from tools to clothes—all free!
Donations of gently-used items will be accepted at the Fairgrounds on March 30, 31, and April 1, 3 to 8pm. There will also be a donation truck at the Civic Plaza in Lacey (near Applebee’s) on Sunday, March 29, noon to 4 pm.
The Absolutely Free Sharing Markets are organized by Evergreen Resistance, with help from dozens of community volunteers and hundreds of donors. While Evergreen Resistance is a progressive group, the Markets are intentionally apolitical. Everyone is welcome!
"The goal of Absolutely Free Sharing Markets is to share anything you're not using with your neighbors, and take home new-to-you stuff that you WILL use. This is mutual aid, not charity—because everyone benefits when things aren't wasted!"
