Overview
Join us for a hands-on class in ceramics, woodworking, fiber arts, and more at Arbutus Folk School!
Taught by local artists and makers, our classes offer a chance to slow down, learn new skills, and connect through shared creativity. We are located in Olympia's vibrant downtown core, next door to Courtyard Antiques and across the street from the city's best food trucks.
In addition to our multi-week offerings popular with locals, we also offer classes suited to visitors looking for an experience that takes place during a few hours, a day, or a weekend - click here to view a list of upcoming classes curated with visitors in mind.
We also offer one-day private workshops that can be tailored to your group’s schedule or size - click here to see options and make a request.
Please be aware that ceramics projects require time after class for kiln-firing, and will be available for pick-up at a later date. However, most of our classes result in a completed project to take with you at the end of class, from steel coat hooks hammered on the anvil, to stained glass suncatchers that you foiled and soldered.
We look forward to welcoming you to our studios and seeing what you create!
