Get out and explore Olympia & Beyond! Our outdoor recreational experiences are diverse, accessible, and now easier to navigate than ever since we’ve partnered with State of Washington Tourism to launch an all-new FREE mobile app called the Tread Map app!

And while you’re out and about through the month of July, plan to try your hand and winning some fantastic prizes as part of the Tread Map Treasure Quest!

How Tread Map Treasure Quest works:

  • We’ll post communications on our IG account and via email newsletter to both visitors and locals, letting folks know we’ll be hiding treasure and posting photo clues exclusively on our FB page and in the Tread Map mobile app via the Tread Talk feature.
  • We’ll hide gift card treasures (a card which indicates that they’ve found the treasure and can plan to collect their prize package at the Experience Olympia & Beyond office) in sealed, waterproof containers each weekend in July in an outdoor space in Thurston County.
  • We’ll take photos as we’re hiding the treasure and share them as clues both on our FB page and in the Tread Map mobile app via the Tread Talk feature.


When the individual finds the prize, they must take a photo of themselves with the treasure and post the image to FB, tagging us at @ExperienceOlympiaandBeyondVCB so that other potential treasure hunters know that the prizes have been found. They must also contact us to arrange to receive their prize package.
