Wagner’s European Bakery & Café has been a bakery and landmark in Downtown Olympia since 1938. In 1964, Rudy and Linda Wagner purchased the bakery and have operated the family business as Wagner’s European Bakery & Café ever since. Our bakers start work before the sun rises each day to ensure that every batch is as fresh as possible before it gets to you. The warm smell of baking often escapes onto the street before we've even opened. We're dedicated to kickstarting your morning with warm muffins, danish, cinnamon rolls and a cup of hot coffee! Many events and commissions have contributed to Wagner’s history such as being selected by the governor’s office to create cakes for both the Washington State Centennial and the National Bicentennial. In 1984, Wagner’s Bakery was chosen by the Olympic Committee to design and present a cake at the beginning of the women’s Olympic marathon trials. Recognition and awards include Modern Baking Leadership Award, Best Bakery of the South Sound, Best Bakery of Western Washington, Best Weddings from The Knot, Outstanding Employer from Morningside Industries, as well as countless local honors.
