To help you get your fill of arts and culture, we’ve pulled together a delectable menu of offerings. From local galleries and performers to national tours and Broadway performances, you are sure to enjoy everything our arts scene has to offer. Here are our top shelf recommendations:
- Local theatre – If you are looking to sample the local talent, Harlequin Production’s seven-show season features a variety of new works, classics and even the occasional musical. If you are a child at heart or are looking to entertain some little ones, Olympia Family Theater has a selection of memorable and often interactive shows appropriate for all ages.
- Music, movies, & more – Take in an indie movie or enjoy a battle of the bands at The Olympia Film Society. Their historical theatre has played host to tours for groups as famous as Macklemore and every November they host an annual film festival. You may also want to take in a performance by the Olympia Symphony Orchestra or Masterworks Choral Ensemble, both of which conduct their musical programs at The Washington Center for the Performing Arts. The Washington Center also offers a large season of events including the hit musicals The Wizard of Oz and Kinky Boots.
- Galleries galore – These gems make for a wonderful walking tour throughout the core of Downtown Olympia, and cater to a variety of different artistic styles. Childhood’s End Gallery and The Gallery at The Washington Center all have rotating displays worthy of a visit each time you come to town.
- Murals & Arts Walk – Downtown Olympia is famous for its decorative murals and street art that adorn the sides of many businesses. They are beautiful all year long, but especially so during our spring and fall Arts Walk!
